Hôm nay bạn học gì?

1. Cách biến lời khen chung chung thành bằng chứng đo được.
2. Cách thiết kế chỉ số: Baseline (trước) → After (sau) → Delta (mức thay đổi).
3. Thêm Beneficiary (ai hưởng lợi) và Adoption (người khác tự dùng được chưa?).
4. Viết đoạn chứng minh ngắn, rõ, có số – vai trò – tác động.
5. Giữ đạo đức: trung thực vai trò, không thổi phồng.

Ghi nhớ nhanh: “Một hành động – Một con số – Một người hưởng lợi – Một dấu hiệu bền (adoption).”

1) Từ “tell” sang “show”: nhìn bằng mắt thường

Tell (yếu) → “I improved the team.”
Show (mạnh – EN):
“I piloted ten-minute Friday stand-ups and a three-tier error log. Debug time fell by 35% in six weeks and our pass rate rose from 42% to 70%; twelve sophomores adopted the routine.”
→ Có hành động (piloted… log), số (−35%; 42%→70%), beneficiary (twelve sophomores), adoption (adopted).

2) Từ viết tắt & thuật ngữ (giải siêu dễ)

• Baseline: mốc trước (ví dụ: pass 42%).
• After: mốc sau can thiệp (ví dụ: pass 70%).
• Delta: mức thay đổi (+28 điểm %).
• Beneficiary: người hưởng lợi (12 sophomores, 3 subteams…).
• Adoption: “tự chạy” khi bạn vắng (ran without me/adopted).
• Timebox: khung thời gian đo (4–6 tuần).
• Counterfactual: nếu không can thiệp, chuyện gì xảy ra? (ghi chú ngắn).
• Confounder: yếu tố gây nhiễu (thi học kỳ, đổi mentor… → nêu để công bằng).

3) Bộ khung 4 bước “Mini-Experiment” (thí nghiệm nhỏ)

Bước 1 – Vấn đề cụ thể:

“Debug quá lâu, pass thấp.”

Bước 2 – Can thiệp có tên:

“Friday stand-ups 10’ + three-tier error log.”

Bước 3 – Chỉ số đo (4–6 tuần):

Thời gian debug (%), % pass, # người dùng.

Bước 4 – Ghi nhận bền:

“Routine ran 3 tuần khi tôi vắng.” (adoption)

EN – câu mẫu (1–2 câu/ý):
“In week 0, pass was 42%. After six weeks of ten-minute stand-ups and a three-tier error log, debug time fell by 35% and pass rose to 70%; twelve sophomores adopted the routine.”

4) Bảng chỉ số điền nhanh (bạn thay số của mình)

Mẹo: luôn có ít nhất 1 cột thời gian (tuần/tháng) và 1 cột người (#).

5) Ví dụ theo từng mảng (để bạn dễ “gắp” bỏ vào)

1. A) Robotics/Khoa học (EN)

“I standardized a three-step QA sheet and piloted ten-minute Friday stand-ups. In four weeks, failure cases dropped by 28% and three subteams reused the template; the routine ran for two weeks without me.”

1. B) Tutoring/Cộng đồng (EN)

“I launched a peer-tutoring clinic for fourteen freshmen. After six weeks, homework completion rose by 32% and two new volunteers took over scheduling; the clinic continued during exam week.”

1. C) Debate/Academic Writing (EN)

“I created a citation audit checklist and trained six teammates. Across two tournaments, we had zero flags and cut prep time by 25%; two captains kept the audit after I stepped back.”

1. D) Fundraising/CLB (EN)

“I A/B-tested two donation pages and a weekly update. Click-to-donate rose from 2.1% to 4.3% in three weeks; the template was adopted by the arts club.”

6) “Câu gạch đầu dòng” để chèn vào Activities (Common App)

• EN: “Standardized QA sheet; −35% debug (6 wks); 12 sophomores adopted.”
• EN: “Peer-tutoring clinic; +32% completion (6 wks); 14 freshmen served.”
• EN: “Citation audits; 0 flags (2 tourneys); 6 teammates trained.”

Điền vào Hoạt động giúp PS/Supplements và Activities khớp nhau.

7) Lỗi thường gặp → Cách sửa ngay

• Chỉ cảm xúc, không số: thêm ít nhất 1 metric (%, giờ, #).
• Số có mà không nói ai hưởng lợi: thêm Beneficiary.
• Có số nhưng “mượn công”: ghi vai trò thật (piloted/standardized/trained).
• Không có mốc thời gian: thêm “in 4–6 weeks”.
• Không bền vững: ghi Adoption (ran without me/copied by…).

Câu sửa nhanh (EN):

• “I helped the team.” → “Trained 12 sophomores; −35% debug in 6 weeks.”
• “People liked my idea.” → “3 subteams adopted the template after week 4.”

8) Mẫu đoạn hoàn chỉnh (EN – 7–8 câu)

“We kept tightening screws but learned little. In week 0, our pass rate was 42% and debug felt endless. I piloted ten-minute Friday stand-ups and a three-tier error log: describe, label ‘repeating?’, assign next step. In six weeks, debug time fell by 35% and our pass rate rose to 70%. Twelve sophomores adopted the routine; by week seven, it ran without me. I used to fix parts; now I fix patterns people can reuse. That’s the habit I want to test in college: design for the next pair of hands.”

Thấy đủ Baseline → After → Delta → Beneficiary → Adoption chưa? Có!

9) Template “đổ khuôn” (bạn chỉ cần thay dữ liệu)

Template 1 – 4 câu (EN):

1. “In week 0, [metric] was [baseline].”
2. “I [action] ([tool/process]).”
3. “After [time], [metric] changed to [after] ([delta]).”
4. “[beneficiary] adopted the [tool]; it ran [adoption length] without me.”

Template 2 – 6 câu (EN):

• Hook 1 câu vấn đề → Context 1 câu → Action 1–2 câu → Metric 1 câu → Adoption/Insight 1 câu.

Template 3 – VN tóm tắt 1 dòng:

• “[Hành động] trong [thời gian] → [số đo] thay đổi [delta]; [ai] dùng tiếp.”

10) Bài tập thực hành (20–25 phút)

1. Chọn 1 claim bạn từng viết (ví dụ: “em đã leadership tốt”).
2. Viết mini-experiment theo 4 bước (vấn đề → can thiệp → chỉ số → bền).
3. Điền bảng chỉ số (ít nhất 2 hàng số thật).
4. Viết đoạn EN 6–8 câu theo Template 2.
5. Đọc to → cắt 15% từ thừa (giữ số); thêm Beneficiary + Adoption nếu thiếu.

11) Checklist tự chấm (0–2 điểm/mục)

1. Có Baseline/After/Delta rõ chưa?
2. Ít nhất 1 metric thời gian (tuần/tháng) hoặc %?
3. Ghi Beneficiary cụ thể (ai hưởng lợi)?
4. Có Adoption (chạy tiếp khi vắng bạn)?
5. Vai trò thật (piloted/standardized/trained…)?
6. Ngắn gọn, không dùng tính từ mơ hồ?
7. Có echo motif hoặc insight ở câu cuối?

≥9/12: đạt chuẩn gửi mentor/sửa lần cuối.

12) “Ngân hàng câu” – mở/đỡ/kết (EN)

Mở vấn đề (1 câu):

• “In week 0, we shipped fixes but learned little.”
• “Pass hovered at 42%; we argued faster instead of measuring.”

Giải pháp (1–2 câu):

• “I piloted ten-minute Friday stand-ups and a three-tier error log.”
• “We labeled repeating failure modes and assigned next steps.”

Kết bền vững (1–2 câu):

• “Twelve sophomores adopted the routine; by week seven, it ran without me.”
• “Good design survives its designer.”

13) Ethics (đạo đức) – viết sao cho “đẹp mà thật”

• Không nhận công của người khác; gọi tên đội/mentor nếu cần.
• Nói thật quy mô (CLB nhỏ ≠ “quy mô quốc gia”).
• Nếu có confounder (thi học kỳ, đổi giáo viên), ghi chú ngắn để công bằng.
• “Không khoe quá”: để số liệu nói giúp bạn.
